American orthopaedics company Hanger had a record year in 2012 with regards to M&A activities. The completed takeovers of US companies Prosthetic-Orthotic Services Inc. and SCOPE Orthotics & Prosthetics Inc. increased the acquired business volume by $24.6m to $60.2m. Patient care of both companies covers 22 hospitals in California and North Carolina.
In its domestic market the company, which is considered of the world’s largest manufacturers of protheses and ortheses, had already acquired 16 local orthopaedic engineering companies with a combined business volume of $35.6m. The Texans are planning further anorganic growth in 2013 eyeing companies with an annual turnover of about $20m.
