The Berlin-based hospital company Median Kliniken apparently wants to take over the insolvent Grand Hotel in Heiligendamm: according to the „Ostsee-Zeitung“, Median Kliniken from Berlin have made an offer. The acquisition could take place later this week. The price stands at EUR 25 million.
The Median Kliniken operate in close proximity to the Grand Hotel, with 42 rehabilitation clinics, hospitals and nursing facilities with approximately 8,500 beds.
It is possible that this group of companies will continue to operate the hotel as a luxury residence and convert two buildings into a therapeutic and recreational centre for stressed executives. The operator of the Grand Hotel, in Heiligendamm, declared it insolvent in late February.
