The ‚Betriebskrankenkasse pronova‘ (BKK) and the ‚Bundesinnungskrankenkasse Gesundheit‘ (BIG) have decided against a merger.
As the „Ärzte Zeitung“ reports, citing the BIG Vice Chairman Peter Kaetsch, the funds have ended their exploratory talks after two and a half months by mutual agreement. Reasons given by the two statutory health funds are their differences in structure and strategic assessments.
BIG has 390,000 insured members nationwide, in comparison to pronova BKK which has 660,000.
