Equistone Partners Europe has taken over the wheelchair manufacturer Sunrise Medical. The seller is the US-based private equity firm Vestar Capital Partners.
The sale price was not disclosed. The transaction, which should be completed by the end of 2012, still requires the approval of the relevant antitrust authorities.
The company has production facilities in the USA, Germany, Mexico, United Kingdom, Spain and China, and develops, manufactures and distributes high-quality, custom-made wheelchairs. Products include manual wheelchairs and electric wheelchairs, wheelchairs for geriatric care and technologically advanced systems for perfect seating and positioning.
