U.S.-based 3M has succeeded in linking speech recognition and speech understanding in hospitals with its front-end speech recognition solution, 3M M*Modal Fluency Direct.

3M’s system is compatible with all HIS systems. From any location in hospitals, doctors and nurses can thus be supported in administrative tasks, so that more time is available for the essential areas in hospitals and clinics.

3M Health Informations Systems‘ process is driven by a cloud-based language profile that focuses on the user and decodes their individual language characteristics. AI-based front-end speech recognition is particularly important to physicians because they can dictate and edit medical information directly into the hospital information system (HIS).

This way, they can reduce the increase in medical documentation time. 3M’s speech solution promises digital support measures for administratively growing areas of responsibility while at the same time providing the greatest possible flexibility, so that physicians and also nursing staff have more time for their patients.

3M Fluency Direct, as a front-end speech recognition solution, and 3M CDI Engage, a solution for real-time cues to close documentation gaps, are eligible for funding under Funding Element 3 of the Hospital Futures Act (KHZG).

There are also innovations in nursing. There, too, 3M M*Modal Fluency Direct can be applied to support nurses, who have benefited the least in the past. The nursing documentation in this area was planned and efficiently implemented together with NursIT, so that the documentation effort in the nursing area becomes easier and more effective. The documentations run faster and more billable, thanks to the excellent AI platform of the American multi-technology company based in the state of Minnesota.
