The recently published Health Atlas 2019 of the BKK Umbrella Association, a political interest grouping of 76 company health insurance funds and four BKK regional associations with ten million insured persons, clearly shows how important networking and cooperative cooperation between the various sectors of the German health care system is, also for a well-functioning health care system of the future. The publication with this core message is the third edition of the BKK Gesundheitsaltlas entitled „Networks for Health“. The association’s executive board, Franz Knieps, wants to „open up the encrusted structures“ so that quality, effectiveness and efficiency can be achieved through patient-centred and cross-sector care, which is also to the benefit of the insured. Various articles in the publication show that networking is already working today and which problems still need to be solved. Dr. Peter Gocke of the Charité in Berlin, for example, has his say. As Chief Digital Officer, he focuses primarily on digitization and algorithms to improve medical care. But also company health management as a health project for companies plays a role in the issue. The project „psyGA- Psychische Gesundheit in der Arbeitswelt“ (psyGA – Mental Health in the Workplace) must be mentioned here, which is seen as a successful model for workplace health promotion in the (digital) world of work. The OSCAR innovation fund project stands for cross-sector and cross-carrier treatment of patients with cancer. In psychotherapy, too, inter-disciplinary care for all actors, including the health system, plays a decisive role and can provide considerable support to those affected, which alleviates the course of the disease. Printed copies of the third edition of the new atlas are available in bookstores or from MWV Medizinisch Wissenschaftliche Verlagsgesellschaft, but can also be downloaded as a free PDF document.
