As of June 1, 2020, the innovative software company, scanacs GmbH, based in Dresden, will cooperate with the Digital Health-Startup from Nuremberg, IT-Labs GmbH, so that employees in other health care areas will in future be able to check more easily whether the prescription issued by the doctor is or has been correctly supplied. scanacs GmbH has developed several applications, including the „copayment check“, which pharmacy staff can use to determine whether the patient is exempt from copayment or not. This application is then mandatory for all participating health insurance companies; the co-payment check takes place in real-time. In this area, both companies are following the same path. This common new standard in drug dispensing will simplify communication between pharmacies and health insurance companies. It also simplifies the preparation for the examination at the health insurance companies as well as the downstream examinations. This process saves time and resources and gains efficiency and relief for all players in the healthcare system. The „co-payment check“ will be integrated into IT-Labs‘ all-in-one solution „Alberta“, which is the name of the care management platform. The so-called creation of the patient makes it clear whether patients are exempt from co-payment or not. A patient’s exemption card no longer needs to be presented, scanned and filed in the pharmacy. Alberta provides optimal care for chronically ill patients in this way. In addition, Alberta ensures patient admission, verification of insured status and the correct selection of products. The cooperation will significantly advance the digitalization process in the healthcare sector.
