There are pharmacy-exclusive goods that are now not only offered and sold at pharmacies, mail order companies and other service providers such as Aponow, but also via a dedicated web store.

These products include the cosmetics series of the company Wala/Dr. Hauschka, which, however, continues to assert its loyalty to pharmacies as a specialist retailer. Since 2018, cosmetic products have also been sold as direct sales via the company’s own online store, coinciding with a new internet presence, primarily to customers who cannot find a brand sales partner in their area. The company states that competition with other pharmacies, mail order and other distribution channels is ruled out. Quite the opposite, in fact, because Dr. Hauschka’s online store sees itself only as a supplement and even refers customers on the Internet to on-site institutions for Wala/Dr. Hauschka products, with a dealer locator for the individual products. A share of sales for Internet purchases is also given to those dealers who are stationed nearby. Bonus points, such as for product purchases from Barbor and Caudalie, are only available via the Internet.

Nutritional supplements (NEM) are also becoming increasingly popular and are therefore also offered over the net. These include, for example, NEM products from Omnibiotic, which can also be advertised via Instagram and ordered directly from the manufacturer, as well as the Pure Encapsulations brand and the Austrian products from Niceshops. The manufacturer Orthomol offers high-priced NEM goods that are delivered free of shipping costs from 25 euros.
