The DIVI Intensive Care Register is a website for the nationwide query of free insemination places, which was introduced during the corona pandemic peak phase, i.e. since April 16, 2020, so that all intensive care hospitals can report free bed capacities. Something similar is now being presented for outpatient intensive care by the German Interdisciplinary Society for Outpatient Ventilation (DIGAB). The register with the same abbreviations, DIGAB register, is useful for extra-clinical intensive care places in care/residential units for intensive care, intensive care flat-sharing communities and in-home intensive care. The president of the society, Martin Bachmann, expressly emphasises this so that all companies such as care services participate in the new register, which cooperates closely with the DIVI register. Better interdisciplinary cooperation between the in-patient and out-patient sectors is thus ensured, because also in the future, not only during the Covid-19 pandemic, patient flows could be better managed. Regional bottleneck bridging is definitely an advantage due to the interaction of both service providers – outpatient and inpatient emergency care – and this also applies to the future. Although the new DIGAB register is not mandatory and is also free of charge, the companies involved are nevertheless strongly advised to participate. All players in the intensive care sector such as patients themselves, outpatient and inpatient care services as well as clinics and hospitals will benefit equally from both registers and their cooperation.
