In the state of Bavaria, there is now a so-called Minister of Health and Care, whose main focus is on the people who need care and their relatives. Klaus Holetschek, Minister for Health and Care, is therefore calling on the future federal government to implement plans similar to those already in place in Bavaria.

Reforms and a renaming of the Federal Ministry of Health (BMG) in a „Federal Ministry for Health and Care“ demanded the Bavarian Minister only recently. The topic care is and remains the most important topic field of the future, it explained only recently for this, so that the plenipotentiary for the care must be settled directly in the chancellery, in order to steer the fate there over all political parties.

Holetschek aims to support above all caring members more strongly with it. A care time money similar to the parents money completely after Bavarian model as well as tax deductible possibilities are the means, which maintaining at home urgently need, in order to be able to step out temporarily from the occupation and become active as maintaining member. The costs of treatment care, regardless of the form of care used, are to be covered in full by long-term care insurance.

A simplified and more flexible care system with care-related cost settlements and benefit amounts in full is the prerequisite for a well-functioning care system. This also includes ensuring that, in the case of long-term care, all costs are paid in full after a certain period of time and that training in this area is not paid for by long-term care insurance, i.e. by those in need of care, but by tax subsidies as a refinancing measure.

The measures Holetschek is calling for also include qualified and well-paid personnel. Here, too, the general conditions need to be improved. Only with a trained eye can one see where the weaknesses in the healthcare system lie today and how new reforms can be better tailored to those in need of care and their relatives as well as care personnel.
