KLS Pharma Robotics, manufacturer of vending machines with a drawer system, has now taken over the „pill cab“. Using an app, patients can order their medication online from one of the estimated 70 participating pharmacies and have it delivered to their home. The company was founded in 2010 by a Cologne pharmacist and a medical student, and in 2018 Michael Walter (former head of sales at Awinta) took over the start-up. KLS boss Manfred Seibold is said to have taken over the company for the symbolic value of one euro. Horst Blass, former chief developer and board member of Seibold’s company Pro Medisoft (sold to Noventi in 2009 and renamed Awinta) will be responsible for sales at Pillentaxi. Mario Amthauer, managing director of Aporadix, a „digital architect“ for retail pharmacies, will also be present.
