The medatixx GmbH & Co. KG and eHealth-Tec GmbH have entered into a strategic partnership for the nationwide introduction of electronic prescriptions. medatixx is a provider of practice software and counts 21,000 medical practices, outpatient clinics and medical care centres throughout Germany among its customers. eHealth-Tec develops solutions for the networking of medical facilities and is a pioneer in the fields of emergency room information software and e-prescription.
As part of the cooperation, eHealth-tec will also make its software solution available to doctors with medatixx systems from mid-August. In the digital prescription process, the medical practice creates an electronic prescription, which is transmitted to the patient as a QR code via an encrypted connection. Via an app, the patient can view his prescribed medication and redeem it either online in a mail-order pharmacy or in an on-site pharmacy of his choice.
According to Tobias Leipold, Managing Director of eHealth-Tec GmbH, the common goal is already now to offer market-ready solutions and to set the first standards for the digitalization of the healthcare market.
