The „MEDCARE“ congress at the Leipzig Trade Fair will not be held again until 2022, on October 5 and 6. The event with a trade fair for clinical and out-of-hospital patient care was originally to be held on September 22 and 23 of this year.

However, the corona pandemic has ruined the exhibitors‘ plans for products in the fields of modern wound care, intensive care, ostomy and incontinence care, pain and palliative care, nutrition therapy and hygiene measures. Accordingly, the 7th Central German Intensive Care Days and the 8th Leipzig Wound Days, which are taking place in parallel, have also been postponed.

The advisory boards of the congress have agreed not to hold the event in September because of too many challenges, as the project director of MEDCARE, Ronald Beyer, recently confirmed. The last event, with more than 1,400 industry attendees, was held in 2019 with 80 exhibitors and has since been paused.

The congress is a cross-sector education and information exchange; intensive, practical and certified. The cross-sector continuing education program is popular and targets individuals in care management and specialists in clinical and out-of-hospital treatment care.
