The family-owned company Tingelhoff, a medical supplies store with its headquarters in Dortmund, is currently focusing on future-oriented developments in the homecare market when it comes to compulsory compliance with distance and hygiene rules and also contact prohibitions, as Tingelhoff has recently started offering consultation for patients via video telephony in cooperation with the partner company SVOBe, an expert for secure online consultation. Customers, and above all patients at risk, can be advised online from home in a relaxed manner thanks to the flexibility in terms of time and location and without the long waiting and travel times associated with digital consultation. For the consultation by video telephony, no installation of software is required, only a form with the main focus of the consultation has to be filled in and sent off, then a consultation appointment is arranged next. The on-line consultation arranges itself afterwards also highly individualized, because the desires of the customers, in addition, the needs of the medical supply house are considered. The customers are individually and professionally advised for this purpose by experts in the medical products sector, which includes rollators, wheelchairs, prostheses, orthoses, but also stoma products. There are special stoma therapists for stoma consultation, who have a lot of experience in dealing with people with an artificial outlet. This sector includes information on the tracheo-, uro- and enterostoma. People with, for example, an artificial bowel outlet (enterostoma) need active support, guidance and advice from competent experts, who can help them with questions and uncertainties in this sensitive area and for the best possible care with the highest possible quality. The conversation via video telephony is subject to the EU basic data protection regulation, according to which customer data may only be used for a specific purpose. If, however, measurements have to be taken, for example, for compression stockings or for making plaster casts, these will continue to be carried out only on-site in the workshops of the Tingelhoff medical supply store. However, communication will then take place in compliance with all necessary measures to prevent infection with the Sars-CoV-2 virus.
