Noventi, a pharmacy-owned group of companies that provides telemedicine, has been cooperating with Zava, a provider of online consultations, via Noventi’s CallMyApo app for about a year. According to Noventi CEO Dr. Hermann Sommer, it is the most successful e-prescription partnership in Germany. 33,000 e-prescriptions in just one year and an increase in participating pharmacies from 5,000 at the end of 2020 to 6,500 today are proof of this. Above all, the quick and easy doctor consultation via telemedicine, even in rural regions, is responsible for the success.
Zava is not a competitor for pharmacists but is to be regarded as a normal doctor’s practice. Namely, after the online consultation, the patient decides with his choice which pharmacy will supply his e-prescription with medicines. The medications can then not only be picked up at the stationary pharmacy but also brought in with a delivery service. The service of the cooperation is free of charge for all parties involved. The CallMy Apo app is only interposed to forward electronic prescriptions. This can thwart foreign mail-order pharmacies because the patient can choose a local pharmacy.
Since the beginning of 2021, not only privately insured patients have been able to benefit from telemedical all-round care, but also those with statutory health insurance. This was made possible by the takeover of Sprechstunde.online by Zava in January of this year. 12,000 registered physicians and therapists are registered with Sprechstunde.online. In addition, video multi-conferences are possible in this way, in which several doctors from different specialties can participate and take care of patients‘ problems.
However, Zava can connect not only doctors from the Sprechstunde.online portal but also doctors from Medlanes, a private medical on-call service. Zava’s network of doctors has thus grown from 25 to 200. Medlanes also organizes home visits and on-site practice appointments for customers who cannot be treated by telemedicine.
