In times of the COVID 19 pandemic, the Green Party is proposing the payment of an immediate premium for doctors and nurses, which could be paid out immediately in the amount of 1,500 euros. Then people working in nursing professions would be rewarded accordingly for their hard work in the Corona crisis. The FDP faction in Bavaria has made similar suggestions. People in health and rescue service professions should not be punished for overtime that is worked additionally by having to pay high taxes. Therefore, the Bavarian FDP advises financial relief for employees in nursing, social and health care professions through tax exemption. According to Dominik Spitzer, health policy spokesman for the FDP faction in the state parliament, this is an important signal of appreciation, so that outstanding additional services are respected and rewarded. These people work under particularly dangerous and risky conditions in the current situation, which must be appreciated. A so-called three-step plan is intended to remedy this situation in the short, medium and long term in order to keep the negative effects in the health care system as small as possible. To this end, according to Spitzer, the public health service should be better equipped in terms of both personnel and funding. A rethink must now take place, as the production of essential medicines must also be secured. However, this can only be achieved by returning production to the EU, as this would guarantee the supply of the German population.
