According to Dr. Kaske, a marketing agency that has just completed a survey of the pharmaceutical industry, many companies are profiting from the corona crisis. While the German economy is groaning under the crisis situation, the pharmaceutical industry, in particular, sees itself at an advantage due to rising sales. 70 percent of all pharmaceutical manufacturers see the market as having a generally positive influence, 50 percent of those surveyed see their own business as being positively affected. 97 percent of mail-order pharmacies also have positive influences to report, as Zur Rose and Shop-Apotheke have already raised capital for the growth phase they are currently in. The ePrescription, which could even be about to be introduced from next spring, is also giving the sector a further boost, as the eCommerce acceptance of all users of digital achievements has again grown during the Corona crisis. The rapid growth of the pharmaceutical industry also has positive effects on telemedicine providers, where video consultation hours are in greater demand than ever before. This sector is currently experiencing a 200 percent increase because social distancing is best implemented in this way. In the USA, which has been hit hard by the COVID 19 pandemic, online consultation hours are currently on a par with visits to doctors‘ surgeries. Many providers are even offering their services free of charge at times. Due to the crisis, manufacturers in the pharmaceutical industry are no longer focusing solely on television advertising and paper printing but are also concentrating primarily on the e-commerce and digitalization sectors. In any case, most of the players in the healthcare sector (71 percent) are benefiting equally from strong to slight increases in sales, while only 8.8 percent are experiencing stagnation. About 21 percent complain about declining sales, which are strong at about 12 percent.
