All over Germany, ePrescription model projects are currently being launched in spite of corona, or some of them were rolled out last year. However, these projects have come to a standstill in some cases because pharmacists and doctors are busy containing the COVID 19 pandemic, but also because they are only connected to gematik in fragments up to this point. Nevertheless, some model projects are getting off to a good start: However, nobody in Berlin knows exactly what the second step of the German Pharmacists‘ Association (DAV) will look like, because the ABDA does not provide any information about it. However, the federal state of Brandenburg is also a participant in the Berlin ePrescription model project, as is the BMG. The pilot project will initially deal with ready-to-use drugs on ePrescriptions from the AOK Nordost (Northeast health insurance company), all other „special prescriptions“ such as BTM prescriptions, T prescriptions, prescriptions for consultation hours, etc. are still excluded from the model project. The BMG is in charge of this concept. 20 million Euros are available until the end of 2022 for digital applications and for the technical implementation. Since then, the showcase e-Recipe model Gerda in Baden-Württemberg has been somewhat pushed into the background. The State Chamber of Pharmacists (LAK) and the State Association of Pharmacists (LAV) are behind this pilot, as is the cooperation with the telemedicine model project Doc-Direct. Doctors and pharmacists are working together in this project, along with the technical service provider Teleclinic for e-private prescriptions and the healthcare service provider Noventi, which is responsible for SHI ePrescription billing. The Kassenärztliche Vereinigung (KV) is also involved in the project via DocDirekt. The project is the most advanced with free choice of doctor and pharmacy. The Techniker Krankenkasse (TK) is also the initiator of two projects. One only started at the end of April and offers remote medical treatment with the issuing of e-prescriptions via the TK-Doc app. The DocMorris subsidiary eHealth-Tec is responsible for the technical implementation. TK’s Hamburg-Wandsbek project is also increasingly taking shape. The Hanseatische Ersatzkasse (HEK) was already added last year, and now Barmer has just joined. Further partners may follow; technology partners are already Life-Time GmbH, software service provider, König IDV GmbH and eHealth-Tec. 130 TC-insured persons are participants of the still small project with 320 prescription exhibitions; the tendency for initial and follow-up prescriptions increasing. Messenger services of the pharmacies are available for contactless delivery of the drugs. Noweda and all affiliated pharmacists cooperate via the digital platform ihreapotheken.de, ia.de for short, which provides the technical solution after presentation of the gematik. Paper prescriptions are photographed by patients themselves via smartphone and not sent in. The photo is sufficient to trigger the online order and to pick it up at the local pharmacy. Contactless ordering via the digital platform and personal consultation in the pharmacy is possible in this way. Doc Morris is currently active with two model projects. Through Krya, a Swedish telemedicine provider, DocMorris handles ePrivatrept exhibitions, and there are further cooperations for SHI insurants and their prescriptions. The German Association of General Practitioners and the Westphalia-Lippe Association of General Practitioners work together with DocMorris and with Krya telemedicine. Details are not yet known and will not be disclosed. The e-prescription solution of the company Pro AvO is also still relatively unknown. A joint portal is planned in cooperation with the digital supply network from the initiative of Noventi, Gehe, BD Rowa and the publishing house Wort & Bild, who are the sponsors and hold different shares. All 19,000 pharmacies nationwide are to be brought on board for e-prescription development, that much is known so far.
