The pharmaceutical and diagnostics company Roche has been offering a „SARS-CoV-2 Rapid Antigen Test“ since March 2020, primarily to relieve medical staff. The Berlin-based company, DoctorBox GmbH, provides the software for this. With the help of the software SchnelltestToGo, a possible Corona infection result transmission can be started quickly and reliably, but also in compliance with data protection regulations. Beforehand, the patient only has to download the DoctorBox app and register before he or she is then tested by means of a rapid test. The result is then transmitted in 15 to 30 minutes and can then be accessed via the DoctorBox app without the tested person having to wait for their result at the test center. DoctorBox is thus Roche’s technology partner, as the world-renowned company needed to respond to the increased demand of rapid tests and their reliable transmission of results. Since then, Roche has been producing more tests to match the required production capacity nationally and internationally. The digital workflow support solution SchnelltestToGo allows decentralized documentation and information with transmission of findings that is DSGVO-compliant, i.e., in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation by means of a high-security infrastructure. A secure transmission of possible SARS-CoV-2 results is possible in this way. The person tested receives a unique barcode, with which patients receive the result by scan after opening the app in their smartphone. The result can thus be accessed online and is stored in the patient’s central data store, the DoctorBox secure health record, which can also be used by other rapid test manufacturers. Since March last year, this has happened over 800,000 times. Meanwhile, Covid 19 antibody test results are also included in DoctorBox’s expanded offering. The results can then also be stored in the personal digital health record for the smartphone, in order to share them with the health authorities in accordance with data protection regulations.
