Two comparative Forsa surveys commissioned by the Kaufmännische Krankenkasse (KKH) on cosmetic surgery in 2010 and 2020 with about 1,000 people revealed a different picture after ten years. Afterwards, the willingness to undergo cosmetic surgery has increased. 20 percent of those surveyed, i.e. about one fifth can imagine having such operations. Ten years ago it was only one in six. People between the ages of 16 and 65 were surveyed who also lost a little bit of their fear of the risks of operation in the ten years after the first survey. While in 2010 two thirds still expressed fears and worries about possible complications, ten years later it was only 50 percent of those surveyed. Women between 30 and 44 are particularly open-minded about cosmetic surgery, the survey revealed. But their wishes have shifted a little. In 2010, liposuction was at the top of the wish list with 35 percent, while in 2020 eye corrections were at the top of the list with 32 percent. Then comes liposuction with 25 percent, facelift (20 percent), double chin correction (17 percent) and Botox injections with 14 percent. For women, breast augmentation with silicone implants is no longer high on the wish list. Today, only five percent want this, in 2010 it was still 22 percent.
