The data analysis and consulting company GlobalData from Great Britain has found out in a study that telemedical applications are in high demand during the corona crisis and will also boom afterwards. If the boom in telemedicine continues in this way and continues to find acceptance among patients, service providers and technology providers, the analysis shows that by 2024 17.5 billion euros in sales could be achieved in and with the industry, because diagnosis, therapy, but also aftercare and preventive measures can be better supported with the help of video consultation hours, e-health offers and the like. In the COVID 19 pandemic, many players benefited from modern and innovative forms of care, so analysts expect the boom to continue. However, there are also disadvantages that make telematic structures expensive, because installation and maintenance cost money, as the British study also points out. The analysts‘ advice is therefore to have telemedical applications supported by health ministries around the world. One thing must also be clear to everyone, concludes the analysis, that personal contacts with the doctor of confidence and in-depth examination methods can never be made dependent on modern, digital technologies.
