The Bundesvereinigung Deutscher Apothekerverbände (ABDA) has identified that the German pharmacy sector is continuing to suffer, in a recent address in Munich.

According to the association, the number of pharmacies in Germany is falling faster and faster. Every week, around 6 pharmacies close. By the end of this year, the number will fall to around 20,900 pharmacies, the lowest level since 1994.

From the perspective of health minister Bahr, the position is not threatening: „There are no pharmacies dying,“ he told the ARD Television. „Furthermore, it is not the job of politicians to set the number of pharmacies.“ (Quotes translated by kon.media)
