The CEO of Dortmund-based sickness fund BIG, Frank Neumann (48), is on leave of absence with immediate effect. This was confirmed on enquiry by his deputy, Peter Kaetsch, who will take over leadership from Neuman immediately. The reason for the leave of absence was that there had been different ideas raised for future strategi direction at a recent Board meeting in August. Word internally suggests Neumann will not be returning to BIG.
Although BIG is currently performing well financially, lower allocations through future risk adjustments could affect earnings. BIG insures 390,000 people, and has 540 employees.
