Health insurance company hkk expects a record surplus of EUR 45m in 2012. This preliminary economic result was announced by board member Michael Lampe last weekend.
„The amount of the surplus is impressive because EUR 14.5m in bonus payments have already been subtracted from that sum,“ Lempe announced. The amount reflects one the biggest profits per member with regards to all statuatory health insurances. Therefore, members will be paid a EUR 100 bonus this year.
It is planned that in 2014 members will receive a EUR 100 bonus again since the existing savings will compensate for the expected rise in expenses. The Bremen-based insurance company has gained some experience with regards to bonus payments: since 2009 the company pays their customers a EUR 60 bonus on an anuual basis. This is unique among German statuatory health insurances.
