The American wheelchair manufacturer Invacare earned significantly less than last year in the third quarter of 2012 (September 30). Net income was $2.86 million following the previously generated $ 12.8 million.

As a reason for the decline in profit, the company from Elyria, Ohio states quality improvements and restructuring costs. In addition, they have paid off their liabilities at the beginning of the quarter. Pre-tax profits fell by only 18.5 percent to EUR 29 million.

Turnover fell slightly to $452.98 million from $456.52 million, last year. After nine months, revenues totaled $1.341 billion (-0.7%). European sales stagnated at 402 million dollars (-0.9%). Adjusted for currency effects, however, it was 6.7 percent up over the same period.
