pronova BKK and BIG – direkt gesund have held the first exploratory talks over a possible merger in 2013.
The negotiators see in the possible merger the opportunity to combine the strengths of BKK with many care locations that have strong service offerings, to provide IKK as the central direct health insurance. Then, there would be over 1 million policyholders of both funds, offering an improved range of consulting capabilities.
The negotiating partners are working on a valuation basis for the Board of Directors who will decide in the coming weeks on how to proceed.
