Private hospital operator Rhön-Klinikum has made less profit in the first quarter of the current financial year because of payment delays at the university clinic Gießen-Marburg. Rhön-Klinikum was expecting a fall in previously projected profits of between 5 and 9 million Euro, the company from Neustadt an der Saale advised.

Furthermore, the corporation was not progressing as quickly as planned with scheduled savings in the personnel area at the university clinic. In regard to this, the group had been planning to cut 500 positions.

However, the group reaffirmed its full-year guidance. Management is expecting a turnover of 2.85 billion Euro, an operative result (EBITDA) of 350 million Euro and a group profit of 145 million Euro for this year.
