The health policy spokesman for the CDU, Jens Spahn, estimated that more spending on doctors, hospitals, drugs and pharmacists in the coming year will cost around EUR 2.8 billion. Thus, there would be very little remaining of the EUR 3-4 billion, after deduction of compulsory reserves, and a planned return flow to the Finance Minister.

According to Spahn, there is going to be more than EUR 2.3 billion attributed to doctors and hospitals, around EUR 500 million for more drugs spending and at least EUR 310 million to pharmacists.
