The discussion on the use of health fund surpluses – altogether the health funds and statutory health fund have over 19 billion Euros in reserves – has now prompted service providers to speak up as well.
As part of a survey by Apotheke adhoc, more than half (56 percent) of the 244 participating readers of the technical journal stated that a part of the reserves should go to the service providers. Pharmacies had also done their bit in improving the health funds‘ financial situation. After all, they were responsible for a drop of four percent in medication expenses.
