The US-based medical technology company Stryker Corporation has acquired the company Surpass Medical for $100 million. An additional $35 million could also be paid in the course of various milestone payments.
The company is headquartered in Tel Aviv, with a research and production facility in Florida, and specialises in the development and commercialisation of stent technology for flow deflection from a brain aneurysm. The core product of Surpass, NeuroEndoGraft, has been developed to direct blood flow away from an aneurysm, so that a stable blood clot may be formed within the aneurysm.
