The aim of the centre is to provide a better interconnection of the three divisions: express delivery service, ThermoMed and logistics services. in combining these, there will be many improvements to the services offered, such as the import and export of pharmaceutical shipments.
The process is now underway for the development of specially built sites for contract logistics. Active since May this year is the Logistics and Outgoing Freight Centre in Hamburg. In Alzenau in July, grounds for a new pharmaceutical contract logistics centre – with additional specialisation in handling and value added services for inbound and outbound cargo – were acquired. Commissioning is scheduled for January 2013.
