The Federal Health Minister Bahr is supposedly considering whether to abolish surgery fees. The timing for abolishing them is favorable, because of the health funds‘ financial situation. However, if this would eventuate, health funds would collect 2 billion Euro less each year. Now the minister is reportedly trying to figure out how this void could be filled.
A review of surgery fees was also stipulated in the coalition agreement between FDF and CDU/CSU. Whether it will actually come to an abolishment, however, remains to be seen.
